Image and touch are different symptoms

A screen may show an image without responding to touch, or respond while displaying a damaged image. Parts and screen assemblies vary by model.

Describe what you see

Note lines, patches, unresponsive areas or touches that activate by themselves. Mention impacts and liquid exposure even if the issue appeared later.

Avoid pressing damaged areas

If the glass is cracked, do not press the damaged area or try to separate it. If the screen lifts, stop using the device and request inspection: do not assume it is only adhesive.

Before assessment

Back up the device if you can safely use it. Share the exact model to check parts and confirm the scope of diagnosis.
